NYDocSubmit is a mobile application that allows certain applicants and recipients in participating social services districts (districts) to take pictures of their documents and submit them to their local district office using their Apple iOS or Android device. There is no need for the individual to take time off from work, stand in line or travel to the district office to drop off documents. NYDocsubmit supports SNAP, HEAP, TA and Medicaid.
The SNAP-to-Market website helps you find NY Farmers' Markets where you can use your SNAP benefits (formerly Food Stamps) and explains how to make Farmers' Market purchases with them. You'll also find information on when fruits and vegetables are in-season at your market, and recipes to use with produce you buy.
WIC - the Women, Infants & Children’s Supplemental Food Program provides nutritious foods, nutrition education, and referrals to community services for low-income pregnant and post-partum women and their children under five years of age. Our educational program series and lessons help families and households to stretch their food dollars to make healthier choices and eat better for less! Our Eat Smart New York! Program helps individuals and families who have limited resources to gain the knowledge and skills to make healthier food and activity choices.
There are 3 government programs that offer payment options beyond the usual cash, check or credit card to eligible low-income consumers at farmers’ markets. Those options are:
1.Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) checks (WIC)
2.FMNP checks for senior citizens.
3.Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits – formerly “Food Stamps” – can be used at Farmers’ Markets equipped with Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) machines.
