Research shows that physical activity, strong social ties, and an environment that encourages movement are important factors contributing to improved health and longevity!
To inspire residents and visitors who would like to grab a buddy and get moving, Nutrition & Physical Activity Educator Joy Leon will be hosting a five-week interactive series on the Turtle Spring Trail located behind the Extension Education Center. This series will take place on Mondays from June 30th to July 28th, 2025, from 4:00pm to 4:45pm.
Participants can walk the trail at their own pace to enjoy the fresh air in the scenic forest and take advantage of fitness equipment stationed along the way to engage in physical activities focused on building strength and flexibility. Participants will have the opportunity to ask Joy questions, get encouragement and support, and connect with other health-focused professionals in the county. Please join us for time out in the sunshine and fitness-focused conversation! There is no fee, but preregistration is encouraged. Those with questions or interest in related programs can email sullivan@cornell.edu or call 845-292-6180 for assistance.
Nestled behind the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Sullivan County office, the Turtle Spring Trail is open to the public daily, from dawn to dusk.
Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County provides equal program and employment opportunities. The public can contact the office to request accommodations.
