BONE BUILDERS is an exercise program designed to help individuals aged 65+ maintain bone mass and build on existing bone mass but is open to all. Osteoporosis is a major public health threat for more than 44 million Americans, 80% of whom are women. A "silent disease," bone loss usually occurs without symptoms. People may not know they have osteoporosis until their bones become so fragile that a fracture occurs.
This program will feature light exercises with hand weights with instruction provided by trained CCE Volunteer - Joy Mendelsohn, MD.
This program will take place weekly on Thursdays 11 am - 12 pm, March 27 - May 22, 2024 at 64 Ferndale-Loomis Rd, Liberty, NY 12754.
Bring a water bottle, floor mat or towel, and your own 1-2 lb. weights!
