Parkinson's disease symptoms can be different for everyone. Early symptoms may be mild and go unnoticed. Symptoms often begin on one side of the body and usually remain worse on that side, even after symptoms begin to affect the limbs on both sides. While there’s no cure for Parkinson’s disease, certain medications and lifestyle changes can help manage symptoms and improve overall quality of life.
Taking place on the second Wednesday of the month from July through November, the Parkinson's Support Group will offer a place to connect with others and resources available through the Caregiver Resource Center and Alzheimer's Association. Attendees will have the opportunity to share their concerns and share tips on managing stress, learn about Parkinson's, and be provided with community resources.
Interested participants can register through the link below, call (845) 292-6180 ext. 122 or email sullivancrc@cornell.edu.
The Caregiver Resource Center is a co-partnered program between Cornell Cooperative Extension and Office for the Aging of Sullivan County and is supported by a grant from the NYS Office for the Aging’s Caregiver Program.
