Explore the flavors and ingredients of winter! Chef Erin will discuss what’s in season and use farm fresh products to make a complete dinner with you.

About the chef:

Chef Erin Moore grew up in Wurtsboro, New York and has been cooking professionally in NYC since 2017. Previous careers included a stint at the United Nations and five years as a public school teacher in Harlem and the Bronx. She now owns and operated Hermana Catering - a full service catering company with locations in NYC and the Catskills.

Erin has worked mostly in catering and as a private chef for high profile clients for the last eight years. She has a decades-long commitment to food justice and has volunteered for City Harvest throughout the years and was recently tasked with leading a daily meal service for over 100 guests located in a church in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. While she is very proud of the competitive food scene she belonged to in NYC she has relocated to the Catskills. Her move upstate intends to add value to the individuals and groups of people who are committed to improving our food systems in our region, while offering her culinary services in different capacities. Her motto is food should be luxurious but not a luxury.

These cooking classes are one of many ways Erin is committed to our community and how we nourish ourselves. Your participation makes possible future programming for underserved communities. We build community, learn some neat cooking tricks and help our neighbors.

All proceeds will go to the Sullivan Fresh Food Security Program. The Sullivan Fresh Food Security Program has the mission of providing access to healthy nutritious food to all people in Sullivan County through Farmers Markets and the Community Cupboard. Through the cooperation of CCE, SALT and our incomparable Sullivan County Farmers we are improving the health of our community one meal at time.

Enjoy our new, fully-equiped teaching kitchen.

Learn to cook while supporting our food security program! Stay tuned for a new class coming to you every month.
