Dr. Adam Murray, Ph.D., Beef Cattle Extension Specialist from Cornell University PRO Livestock, will go over the basics of livestock genetics, how to read and understand a genetic analysis and select sires with desirable traits, based on farm preferences. Learn more about the practical and economic benefits of selecting sires with favorable genetics, as well as ensure your animals reach their full genetic potential.

Open to all livestock species with intentions to breed via AI or natural cover!

More about the presenter:

Adam's focus is to support beef cattle producers of various sizes through programming, research and facilitating market development, and to educate new and existing farmers about different cattle production and marketing strategies. He is interested in how cattle management throughout the entire lifecycle can influence carcass characteristics and the beef eating experience, and likes to tie in live cattle production with meat science wherever possible.
