The FAMACHA© eye anemia system is a tool to support small ruminant producers making deworming decisions. In order to get a FAMACHA© card, producers must attend an approved training. This workshop will certify participants in the use of the FAMACHA© system, discuss other ways of controlling internal parasites in small ruminants, and also include instruction on fecal egg counting. You are welcome to bring a sample (kept cool) from your farm, along with your questions!
This workshop will be facilitated by FAMACHA certified trainer Michelle Proscia, Agriculture Production Program Manager at CCE Sullivan County, Kathryn Brignac, Livestock and Natural Resources Educator at CCE Ulster County and Grace Ott, Livestock, Dairy, and Equine Educator at CCE Orange County.
Class Fee: $25 per farm or family (1 FAMACHA© card will be provided per registration). Registration covers the cost of one FAMACHA card. Space is limited to 15 registrants.
