There are an estimated 4.1 million unpaid caregivers in New York State.
Caregivers face incredible stresses. 61% worry about caring for a family member, friend, or neighbor. 50% use food to cope and reduce stress. 33% use substances to cope versus 6% of the general population.
There are resources to help. Learn more about them during NYSOFA's special Caregiver Month livestream hosted by NYSOFA Director Greg Olsen.
Greg will be joined by Alexandra Drane, co-founder of ARCHANGELS, a national movement and a platform that is reframing how caregivers are seen, honored, and supported. Also joining the discussion is Leda Rosenthal, of Trualta, an app that is available free of charge for any caregiver in New York State to receive evidence-based supports.
