COVID-19 UPDATE: New York State considers farmer’s markets an essential business. However, there are new requirements for farmers' markets for the duration of the Executive Order. These requirements are meant to maintain outlets for healthy local foods while safeguarding our farmers, consumers, and communities from the spread of COVID-19. *Please Note! The following schedule is subject to change, along with policies and procedures based on guidance for COVID-19 from New York State Ag & Markets. Click Here to Learn More
Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County’s "Sullivan Fresh" Campaign is a community-based initiative that evolved out of expressed interest to sustain local agriculture and build a stronger local food system in Sullivan and surrounding counties. We currently operate 2 farmers market initiatives in Sullivan County: Sullivan Fresh Market on the Move and Sullivan Fresh Farmers Market at Monticello.
CCE Sullivan will also manage the SNAP and Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) at the Sullivan Fresh Farmers’ Markets. Those who receive SNAP/EBT benefits are able to redeem their benefits for wooden tokens, which can be used like cash throughout the market on eligible items which include: fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, cheese, bread, and more. In addition, those who meet income requirements may receive a booklet of FMNP or Senior FMNP checks to use on fruits and vegetables at the market.

Our mission is to make affordable fresh fruits and vegetables easily available to communities within Sullivan County, while creating a sustainable sales market for local farmers. The Sullivan Fresh Market on the Move project (mobile farmers market) partners with the Catskills Food Hub to deliver fresh, local fruits and vegetables to communities in Sullivan County, through Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County’s (CCESC) Creating Healthy Schools and Communities program.
The Sullivan Fresh Market on the Move (mobile farmers’ market) parks at two designated locations each week (listed above). CCESC staff, along with our partners, address barriers to farmers market use and access to fresh fruits and vegetables through outreach, nutrition education, cooking demonstrations and multi-lingual materials at the market stops.

Four years ago, with support from the Sullivan County Department of Public Health Services and Sullivan Renaissance, Catskill Mountainkeeper jumpstarted the farmers’ markets in Monticello and Liberty. With the Liberty market taking off and ready for extra attention, Catskill Mountainkeeper is transitioning the market in Monticello to Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCE Sullivan) to spark its own reinvention. The Sullivan Fresh Farmers Market at Monticello will have a variety of vendors selling local fruits and vegetables, honey, maple syrup and more!
There is ample free parking adjacent to the farmers’ market, which is just steps from downtown Monticello. Market shoppers will be treated to special, fun events and activities throughout the summer. Visit our Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/sullivanfreshmarkets) for an up-to-date-list of market events and activities.
CCE Sullivan is currently accepting applications from new local vendors, farmers, and non-profit organizations to join the market. There is a 1-page application which can be obtained by contacting CCE Sullivan or by downloading the application on the left-hand side of this page.
