Wanda V. Cruz is the Healthy Communities Coordinator for Creating Healthy Schools and Communities. She is a bilingual Native New Yorker who traveled back and forth several times a year to Puerto Rico for a primary and secondary education (2nd to 12th). Wanda has spent three years working and spending most of her waking hours in Sullivan County where she provides assistance to Mamakating, Fallsburg, Forestburgh, Monticello, Thompson, Liberty, Bethel, and the Government Center with Complete Streets and/or Worksite Wellness policies and implementation. She’s an active member of several committee’s which include but not limited to: Grow the Gateways Thompson and Monticello, Sullivan County Trails Committee, O & W Feasibility Study, Sullivan County Worksite Wellness Committee and more.

Wanda has completed an A.S. in Business Management, a B.S. in Community & Human Services, and is 1 year short of a B.S. in Psychology. Other trainings include: Crisis Intervention, HIV/AIDS (confidentiality, testing, prevention, etc.), Gangs, Occult & Graffiti, Cultural Diversity, Complete Streets, Worksite Wellness and much more.

Domestic or international, Wanda loves it! She loves the experience of meeting new people and experiencing new places. She also loves bringing old furniture back into life, cooking and baking for others, creating new art designs, friend and family gatherings, bowling, dancing, and reading. Most of all, Wanda loves walking bare foot on a beach with a special loved one.
