The horse lovers program for beginners will offer 6 different topics geared towards the non-horse owner. This program will help increase the number of participants that would otherwise not get the experience to work with horses. The offering will be to youth in the Sullivan County area. Each week the curriculum will build on the previous week increasing the level of knowledge and skills.

The program offering in 

a hands-on setting will allow for groups to enhance learning. Each lesson will offer a demonstration and information regarding the equine species.  A basic overview will be given at the beginning of the session and then the lessons will begin. 

6 Lessons Covered:

- Horses and Safety

- Grooming and Handling

- Trip to the stable

- Pony games

- A healthy horse

- Horse of a different color

The program will run from Sept. 4 until Sept. 18 each Wednesday.

Fee

$5 for 4-H Members/ $8 for Non-Members
