Farm Transfer & Succession Planning

  • Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Farmers looking to retire should start thinking about transferring the farm's assets over to the next generation. Transfer and succession planning can be the most overlooked aspect of running an agricultural business, and is often the largest cause of farm business failure.

The public is invited to a Farm Transfer & Succession Planning workshop Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC) offers this program from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at its Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Road in Liberty.

Daniel Welch of NY FarmNet will present valuable information on how to successfully transfer your farm over and what steps need to be taken to properly carry out farm succession.

Cost is $20 per person or $15 per CCESC enrollee. Anyone can enroll in CCESC for an annual contribution of $25. Program fees support the cost of instructors, refreshments, materials, and facilities. SCHOLARSHIPS are readily available with support from Sullivan Renaissance.

Registration with non-refundable payment is required in advance, online.

In the event of special accommodations, the public can contact the CCESC office.
