104th Annual Mtg: Farms, Food, & Family

  • Wednesday, December 12, 2018, 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Celebrate Farms, Food, and Family at Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC)’s 104th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. The event will take place at New Hope Community in Loch Sheldrake (GPS address: 870 State Route 52, Hurleyville) from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Snow date is December 19. Guests will receive themed giveaways.

Locally sourced dairy and hors d’oeuvres will be served at 5:30 pm and guests can bid in a silent auction of art and experiences until 6:10 pm. A Hudson Valley Catskills Taste NY Basket will be raffled off to benefit FarmHearts, a partnership to raise funds that support local family farms through mini-grant opportunities. Attendees can vote for candidates to fill open board of directors seats. The Annual Meeting begins at 6 pm, followed by a presentation by keynote speaker Philip Gottswals, managing director of Agricultural and Community Development Services Inc.

Phil will share his knowledge and experiences working on challenges and opportunities related to the big and small dairy industries, and their impacts on local communities, farms, and consumers.

The annual Friends of Extension and Farms, Food, & Family themed recognition will feature the following awardees:

  • Urban Agriculture Award: Evergreen Community and Sullivan Alliance for Sustainable Development for the Evergreen Community Garden
