What goes into training a harness horse for success? What is the distance of a harness horse track?
Youth ages 11-18 are invited to learn the answers to these questions and more at an Introductory Day at Harness Racing Museum & Goshen Historic Track Monday, July 9, 2018. The Goshen Historic Track is located on 44 Park Place in Goshen.
Starting at 10 am, participants will tour the track and museum, drive in a simulator with live racing action, and head to the backstretch of the track to learn about Standardbred horses and their care. No experience is necessary. Youth should bring a bag lunch
Ellen Taylor, executive director of the Youth Harness Horse Foundation will present. This program provides a hands-on opportunity for youth to learn about the harness racing industry and equine related career opportunities.
