Youth Snowmobile Safety Course

  • Saturday, December 9, 2017, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

New York State Law requires that children ages 10 through 17 earn a Snowmobile Safe Operator’s Certificate to operate a snowmobile independently. This certificate must be with the child at all times when operating a snowmobile without the supervision of an adult.

Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC)’s 4-H Youth Development program will be hosting a Snowmobile Safety Course for youth on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm. This training will be held at the Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Road in Liberty. Classroom presentation and activities will be provided by certified instructors with additional information shared by video.

Youth must be age 10 as of the date of class in order to enroll. A parent or guardian must sign a parental consent form for youth to participate. Each participant is expected to bring a bag lunch and a pencil.

A fee of $5.00 per enrolled 4-H Youth* and $8.00 per non-4-H Youth will be donated to Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County to offset operating costs for this program.

Space is limited to 25 participants and pre-registration with non-refundable payment is required in advance. Seats are only guaranteed with payment. Registration and more information can be obtained by calling CCESC at 845-292-6180, emailing sullivan@cornell.edu, or using the link located at the left sidebar of this page.

Payment can be made in advance by check, cash, or credit. Additional donations for CCESC programs are appreciated.

*Anyone ages 5 to 19 can enroll in 4-H for free. 4-H members must identify membership status at time of payment to receive discount.

Anyone aged 5-19 can join 4-H for free or volunteer to start a club in their town. Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County’s 4-H Youth Development program empowers youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults. 4-H members have opportunities to connect to Cornell University resources and gain career readiness skills through hands-on activities and “learning by doing”.

Fee
