Preserve Tomatoes from the Garden

  • Saturday, July 8, 2017, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Master Food Preserver Volunteers will teach you how to can tomatoes.

Did you know? When canning, select only disease-free, preferably vine-ripened, firm fruit. Do not can tomatoes from dead or frost-killed vines.

Learn why and when "hot pack" is preferrable, canning safety, and the proper procedure for hot water bath cannning.

Participants will take home a prepared food sample!
