In partnership with the Orange County Land Trust, this program aims to equip farmers with the knowledge and tools to evaluate and engage in agricultural-friendly conservation easements.
Gain a deeper understanding of how conservation easements can be tailored to protect farmland, support farm viability, and preserve working landscapes for future generations. The session will explain legal and financial frameworks, highlight farmer case studies, and connect attendees with local and regional resources to support long-term land stewardship. The class is part of a series of farmland preservation and ag zoning trainings for municipal and landowners.
Cornell Cooperative Extension is an equal opportunity educator, provider and employer.
Farmland for a New Generation New York is funded by the State of New York and is a partnership between American Farmland Trust, the State, and Regional Navigator organizations, with support from the County of Sullivan.
