DESCRIPTION:Tai Chi for Falls Prevention & Arthritis is an evidence-based gentle exercise and wellness program designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, overall health, and to help prevent falls! This is a 1-hour class once a week for 8 weeks, beginning September 9th and ending October 28th.All are welcome! Any age or ability.~ Those with no experience who want to try out Tai Chi~ Those with previous experience who want a refresherRegister using the link below or by emailing sullivancrc@cornell.edu!This class has a fee of $20 to cover the tai chi handbook that will be given to all registered participants. Interested participants can pay via cash, check, or card on the "donate" tab of our website!What is Tai Chi?Tai chi is an ancient Chinese practice that combines slow and gentle movements with deep breathing.Tai chi helps:
 Increase strength, balance, and posture.Prevent the risk of falls.Improve the mind, body, and spirit.Reduce stress.This program provided by a grant from the NYS Department of Health, OFA, CCE/Caregiver Resource Center Program and the Alzheimer's Association.The Caregiver Resource Center is a co-partnered program between Cornell Cooperative Extension and Office for the Aging of Sullivan County and is supported by a grant from the NYS Office for the Aging’s Caregiver Program.Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County provides equal program and employment opportunities.
