DESCRIPTION:Farmers, food business entrepreneurs, and community members near and far will have the opportunity to learn proven strategies to turn your recipe into profit. On Friday, November 3, 2017, Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC) will host the second annual Catskills Farm and Food Conference at its Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Road in Liberty.This unique event runs from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and includes interactive workshops by leading experts and an optional tour of CCESC’s state-of-the-art Catskills Kitchen Food Business Incubator on-site, where renters can prepare, package, and promote their products. Registration and refreshments start at 8:30 am. Networking and a locally sourced lunch is provided by Victoria Ingrassia Catering.Participants can join workshops throughout the day, including: Marketing Your Food BusinessLegal Considerations When Starting Your BusinessPackaging &amp; Distributing Your ProductFood Processing Rules and RegulationsFood Labeling: The Dos and Don’tsTips for Starting a Food Business from ScratchCost is $35 per person. Scholarships are available with support from Sullivan Renaissance. In the event of financial hardship or special needs, the public should contact the office.Space is limited and pre-registration with non-refundable payment is required in advance. Seats are only guaranteed with payment.
