2026 CRC Monthly Virtual Caregiver Support Group

Mar 18, 2026, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Research shows that participation in a support group can reduce caregiver stress and improve quality of life for both caregiver and care receiver. Caregiving is stressful work that often causes people to go beyond their comfort zone. It can cause a strain on relationships and result in loneliness and isolation. Caregiving is an endless search for balance between doing too much or not enough. Caregiving can provide positive moments of joy and fulfillment, as caregivers identify skills they did not know they had.The caregiver support group is offered and hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC)’s Caregiver Resource Center (CRC). This group is intended to provide both support and offer new resources to the informal family caregiver who assists an aging, ill, or disabled adult relative or friend. Nancy McGraw, CCESC CRC Educator, facilitates meetings and provides access to various educational resources. These meetings provide an opportunity to listen, learn, and share in a comfortable space while finding assistance with caregiving concerns. The support groups offer a safe place for: Sharing feelings, frustrations, and practical ways of copingMeeting other caregivers who are in similar situations and can offer practical adviceDiscovering new information and resourcesYou can register for these meetings through the link listed below or by emailing sullivancrc@cornell.edu. Note that you can access this meeting online or by phone! This co-partnered program between Cornell Cooperative Extension and Office for the Aging of Sullivan County is supported by a grant from the NYS Office for the Aging’s Caregiver Program.Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County provides equal program and employment opportunities. With the prevention of soil erosion, silvopasture systems can help with the retention of landscapes, and with the potential of heat stress the shade of the trees can provide a cooler environment for livestock on pastures. This workshop will teach the values of silvopasture systems to mitigate events with climate change, the benefits of certain trees for silvopasture, how to establish trees, silvopasure design, and long-term orchard management. Hear from our presenters: Kathryn Brignac, CCE Ulster Livestock and Natural Resources Educator Amber Gray, SC Soil and Water Conservation District TechnicianRegister below to receive a Zoom link.Cornell Cooperative Extension is an equal opportunity educator, provider, and employer.
2026 CRC Monthly Virtual Caregiver Support Group

Apr 15, 2026, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

2026 CRC Monthly Virtual Caregiver Support Group

May 20, 2026, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

The public can contact the office to request accommodations.

2026 CRC Monthly Virtual Caregiver Support Group

Jun 17, 2026, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

2026 CRC Monthly Virtual Caregiver Support Group

Jul 15, 2026, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

The public can contact the office to request accommodations.
