Today, the burden of care for aging adults falls primarily on family members. These family caregivers play an important role in the care continuum, providing more than $470 billion worth of unpaid care and support (Caregiving in the U.S. 2015 Report). As the needs of their loved ones increase, the caregiving role tends to change.
Professionals can help to make caregivers aware of the options for care and educate them on how their caregiving role may be impacted at each stage of the care continuum. Join this month’s web seminar for information, tools and resources on how to support family caregivers along their caregiving journey.

Lakelyn Hogan is a gerontologist and caregiver advocate for Home Instead Senior Care and a doctoral candidate at the University of Nebraska Omaha, studying social gerontology. She has a master of arts in social gerontology and master’s in business administration from UNO. Lakelyn has professional experience in the private and public sectors of senior care services.
The class is FREE to the public. Registration is requested online.
This co-partnered program between Cornell Cooperative Extension and Office for the Aging ofSullivan County is supported by a grant from the NYS Office for the Aging’s Caregiver Program.
