Advanced Poultry Farming - CANCELLED

  • Wednesday, August 8, 2018, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

The average hen lays over 300 eggs in a year! The public can learn how to get started with backyard poultry, or expand existing knowledge on poultry farming this summer.

Michelle Proscia, Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC) Agriculture Subject Educator presents this program on poultry for farmers or curious community members at the Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Road in Liberty.

Advanced Poultry Farming on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm will help expand existing knowledge with information on: ways to increase income on your farm, developing enterprise budgets for your flock, regulations for selling eggs and meat in New York State, and potential markets for your products.

Cost is $15 per person or $10 for CCESC enrollees. Anyone can enroll in CCESC for an annual contribution of $25 and receive a monthly subscription to the Extension Connection magazine.

Program fees support the cost of instructors, refreshments, materials, and facilities. Additional donations for CCESC programs are appreciated.

Registration with non-refundable payment is required in advance by visiting www.sullivancce.org, emailing sullivan@cornell.edu, or calling CCESC at 845-292-6180. In the event of special needs, the public should contact the CCESC office.
